WP 4 - Development, adaptation and implementation of flow analysis tools

The selected flow analysis tools will be adapted and applied . More specifically, the Lagrangian Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) method will be implemented for the unsteady free-surface flows evolving in the action turbines runners (Pelton and Turgo), whereas Euler and Navier-Stokes solvers will be used for the Matrix turbine geometry and for the flow distribution components. The low-cost Fast Lagrangian Simulation (FLS) algorithm will be programmed and adapted to Pelton and Turgo turbines configuration. The performance and accuracy of all the above numerical tools will be validated versus experimental and computational data. Finally, specific post-processing numerical tools will be elaborated.
